This has become a loaded question over the past few months. But I do not think of this question as trendy or political, I think of it as enduring and personal. Our values are the compass by which we guide our thoughts, choices, and actions. If you do not know what you stand for, it becomes much more difficult to navigate your life.
When you don’t have a clear understanding of your values, you feel listless, purposeless, confused, and are easily caught up in the opinions of others. It’s a very insecure and uncomfortable state of being.
Choosing what you stand for is a matter of personal creation and declaration. It’s right for you because you say it’s right for you and it resonates in your mind, body, and soul.
For more information I invite you to read my blog.
Once you’ve declared what you stand for, it’s then a matter of remembering those stands and rigorously examining your thoughts, choices, and actions to see if they correspond with your stand. You know, you gotta walk your talk. Not for others, but for yourself. When you know what you stand for, and you actually live them out in your life, your sense of self strengthens and your impact on the world grows.
Try writing them down. Post them on your wall, your fridge, your laptop. See what happens when you live from them.
